Crystal Palace vs Man United: Premier League – LIVE! 💥💥

Man United are looking to close the gap on Manchester City ahead of Sunday’s huge derby as the Red Devils face a trip to Crystal Palace tonight.

Man City extended their lead in the title race – if you can call it that – to 15 points with a hard-fought 4-1 win over Wolves last night. Though United hold a game in hand over their rivals, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer needs to win at Selhurst Park to stand any chance of cutting City’s lead to single digits before thr week is out.

As for Palace, Roy Hodgson’s side bounced back from a dismal 3-0 home defeat against Burnley to take four points from Brighton and Fulham, easing the pressure on the manager.

The Eagles look relatively safe in terms of avoiding a relegation battle, but with around a dozen players out of contract this summer, Hodgson has tasked his squad with proving they deserve new deals – and a big performance against United wouldn’t hurt.

With kick-off at 8:15pm GMT, follow the action on our LIVE match blog with Jack Rosser at Selhurst Park.

Live updates

Just under 15 minutes until kick-off now, and with Martial injured tonight, Solskjaer’s main attacking options on the bench are Dan James, Amad Diallo and Shola Shoretire – and it could be a great chance for the latter two if United are struggling later on.

Premier League results

So, Burnley drew 1-1 with Leicester, while Sheffield United secured a surprise 1-0 win over Aston Villa.

Palace look relatively safe at the moment, but points for two teams below them – even one as far away as the Blades – should sharpen minds a little before kick-off.

Elsewhere in the Premier League, Leicester are currently drawing 1-1 at Burnley – and that would be a decent result for United in terms of the top four race.

Martial injured

Solskjaer also confirmed that Anthony Martial is out after picking up a knock in training on Monday, and is also a doubt for the Manchester derby this weekend.

De Gea out for ‘personal reasons’

Solskjaer has confirmed that De Gea misses tonight’s game due to ‘personal reasons’. Let’s hope it’s nothing serious.

Big chance for Henderson

So, the good news for United is that Edinson Cavani is fit enough to start – but the bad news is that David De Gea is not in the matchday squad. We will keep you updated on whether that’s injury-related, but it’s a big chance for Henderson to stake a claim for the No1 jersey he feels he deserves.
